Malaysia's number of newly confirmed cases in a single day hits record high
Xinhua News Agency, Kuala Lumpur, December 26 (Reporter Lin Hao Yuwei) According to data released by the Malaysian Ministry of Health on the 26th, there were 2,335 newly confirmed cases of new crowns in the 24 hours as of noon that day, a record high since the outbreak, with a total of 103,900 confirmed cases and cumulative death 451 cases.
Data shows that the capital Kuala Lumpur has the most new cases with 728 cases, followed by Selangor with 710 cases and Johor with more than 400 cases. In recent times, the new crown epidemic in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor has been more serious, with most of the local cases coming from factories and construction sites.
Since mid-October, the Malaysian government has implemented “conditional movement control orders” in Sabah, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and other places where the epidemic has worsened rapidly. Specific measures include restricting people’s cross-regional travel, closing schools and other places, but most Economic activities can still proceed as usual. As the epidemic spread, the scope of the control order was once expanded to most parts of the country. However, since December 7th, except for Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Selangor and a few other regions, other regions in Malaysia no longer implement the control order.
